About the position
The Energy Storage and Distribution System (ESDS) Testing Lead at Joby Aviation is responsible for guiding the testing efforts of airborne electronics hardware integral to the company's all-electric air transportation system. This role encompasses overseeing testing from the development phase through certification, ensuring that the team delivers accurate data to support company objectives while adhering to Joby's core values.
Responsibilities
- Guide the testing efforts on airborne electronics hardware for the Energy Storage and Distribution System.
- Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) responsible for hardware components such as battery modules and control systems.
- Understand testing needs and develop custom test capabilities.
- Mentor and motivate Test Engineers in test preparation and execution.
- Perform data analysis on test results and participate in root cause analysis for failures.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate data to support company goals.
Requirements
- Strong background in testing airborne electronics or similar hardware.
- Experience in leading testing teams and mentoring engineers.
- Proficiency in data analysis and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to develop custom test capabilities and understand testing needs.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with battery systems and high voltage electronics.
