About the position

The Sr Systems Lead Test Engineer will serve as the test architect for Motorola Solutions' new Public Safety Suite Ecosystem integration lab. This lab is designed to facilitate the integration of Motorola Solutions' comprehensive suite of Public Safety Ecosystem products, which includes PremierOne, Flex, Command Central, Emergency Call Handling, Video, WAVE, ASTRO, and various third-party applications. The primary objective of this role is to design, develop, and implement testing strategies that assess the integration of these multiple applications, ensuring the deployability of features or sets of features. In this capacity, the Lead Engineer will collaborate closely with product and deployment teams to evaluate the release readiness of new features and functionalities. This involves a thorough understanding of the systems involved and the ability to create effective test cases that reflect real-world scenarios. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality throughout the testing process. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the success of the integration lab and ensuring that Motorola Solutions continues to deliver cutting-edge technology that enhances public safety. This position is hybrid, requiring candidates to commute to the Schaumburg, IL location. The role also involves a travel requirement of 10-25%, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements while still engaging with teams and projects that may require on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the test architect for the Public Safety Suite Ecosystem integration lab.
• Design, develop, and implement testing strategies for the integration of multiple applications.
• Collaborate with product and deployment teams to evaluate release readiness of new features and functionalities.
• Create effective test cases that reflect real-world scenarios for the Public Safety Ecosystem products.
• Ensure the deployability of features or sets of features through rigorous testing and evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 6+ years of direct hands-on experience designing, deploying, or testing complex communications systems.
• Experience in a senior test architect role for at least 2 years.
• Deep understanding of Premier One Cad and Flex Cad systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 2-5 years of direct hands-on experience designing, deploying, or testing infrastructure type systems involving clients, servers, and applications.
• Experience developing test strategies and test cases for Premier One Cad, Flex Cad, or ASTRO systems.
