About the position

The Lead Toddler Teacher at The Goddard School in Hastings On Hudson is responsible for managing the daily operations and curriculum for the toddler classroom. This full-time, hourly position involves overseeing a team of assistants and floaters while working closely with parents and staff to create a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for toddler-aged children
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students, following all state licensing regulations and Goddard School policies and procedures
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, providing guidance and support in their professional development
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance and progress reports
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and welcoming school community
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices

Requirements

• Minimum of a CDA or an associates in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• At least two years of experience working with toddlers in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of child development theories and best practices for early childhood education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with parents and staff members
• Ability to create and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
• Familiarity with state licensing regulations and Goddard School policies and procedures
• Willingness to undergo a background check and obtain required clearances
