About the position

The Lead, Trade Compliance position at L3Harris is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to international business initiatives. This role involves preparing agreements, interpreting governmental responses, and providing guidance to stakeholders. The Trade Compliance Lead acts as the Empowered Official, overseeing export compliance policies, managing international agreements, and conducting training sessions to ensure adherence to regulations. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external parties to support compliant execution of business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare agreements in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives.
  • Interpret governmental responses and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relations with government licensing authorities.
  • Analyze business initiatives per regulatory requirements and advise management on compliant execution.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance with federal regulations.
  • Develop and conduct audits of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliant transactions.
  • Support external audits and inquiries from US governmental control agencies.
  • Influence product development decisions through technical jurisdictional analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and US Customs regulations.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform data mining and ad hoc reporting.
  • Basic understanding of Incoterms and Global Logistics.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external customer relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in export product knowledge dealing with overseas products and technical data.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
