About the position

We are looking for a passionate Lead UI Artist to join our shop and customization team, on Diablo IV. The ideal candidate has passion for and experience with creating high quality user interfaces and immersive, exciting gameplay experiences. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY or Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of UI Artists on Diablo IV's customization and shop team
• Provide regular feedback on UI Art to achieve a cohesive experience
• Work with UI leads, PMs and directors to determine requirements for new and existing features
• Manage documentation for UI Art features
• Continually evolve the store interface based on feedback from development team and players
• Be a gatekeeper for quality and efficiency
• Create opportunities for UI Artists to expand their skillset and knowledge and developing paths for growth
• Review workflows and proactively identify bottlenecks
• Collaborate with external partners to ensure delivery and consistency

Requirements

• 8 + years of experience as a UI Artist or Visual Artist, with one shipped title having owned UI related feature
• Deep understanding of hierarchy, layout, color, typography, iconography, and usability design principles
• Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to quickly switch context

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience working with external vendors
• Prior experience working with MTX in User Interfaces
• Passion for the Diablo franchise and ARPG genre
• Flexibility and interest in learning new tools and software
