PayPal is seeking a Lead User Experience Researcher who is passionate about understanding user needs and is eager to uncover deep insights that inform the creation of user-centered experiences. This role is vital in building trust and security into PayPal's products while contributing to a positive brand experience for the target audience. The Lead UX Researcher will utilize a variety of research methods to influence product development and ensure that customer-centric decisions are made throughout the product lifecycle. This includes conducting early research to understand customer needs, guiding design definitions, and performing post-launch research to inform future iterations. The researcher will be responsible for crafting research programs that provide answers to critical questions and help define new research initiatives. In this position, the Lead UX Researcher will independently own and drive research programs from start to finish. This involves identifying the right research questions, defining participant samples, selecting appropriate methodologies, designing studies, and executing them with a high level of rigor. The researcher will present compelling insights and recommendations to various teams and leaders, leveraging strong storytelling skills to facilitate constructive debate and drive customer-centric decision-making. Additionally, the Lead UX Researcher will act as a liaison between design, product management, and marketing teams, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders. They will also facilitate workshops and design sprints, surfacing relevant findings and influencing product and design strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user experience research, with a focus on digital products and platforms, particularly in the financial services or e-commerce sectors. They will be expected to model a growth mindset by actively seeking and providing feedback, experimenting with new approaches, and mentoring other researchers. This role reports to a Senior Manager or Director of UX Research and is part of a diverse Global Experience Design Organization that values different perspectives and backgrounds to foster innovation and inclusion in product designs.
