About the position

The Lead Utility Service position at Service by Medallion involves overseeing janitorial operations and coordinating cleaning activities to maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment. The role requires strong leadership skills to assign tasks, inspect work quality, and train staff, ensuring compliance with company standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks to workers based on job requirements or special assignments.
• Inspect all completed work for conformance to Service by Medallion and client standards.
• Order and issue supplies and equipment.
• Train new workers and oversee ongoing training of existing employees.
• Clean assigned areas including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
• Assist custodial staff for special projects and perform any open job for coverage due to absences.
• Use appropriate methods, equipment, and chemicals for cleaning.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality for face-to-face interactions.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have janitorial experience.
• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• Valid CA Driver's License and clean MVR.
• Strong knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products, and equipment preferred.
• Experience in a Lead or Foreman role or similar type of role.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Experience in office cleaning preferred.
• Experience in floor care (strip, wax, buff) preferred.
