About the position

As a Lead UX Researcher for Monetization at TikTok, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our business services. The Monetization team is dedicated to enabling clients to connect effortlessly with their audiences and maximize their brand potential. In this role, you will lead strategic research initiatives to identify novel product opportunities and conduct independent research across various aspects of our products and user experiences. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing user behavior through a variety of methods, including lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments such as A/B testing. Collaborating closely with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UX Researchers, you will prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Your ability to understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into your research will be crucial. You will advocate for research findings to diverse audiences through comprehensive written reports and engaging in-person presentations, ensuring that insights are effectively communicated and utilized in product development. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in UX Research, with a strong background in various research design methods, including usability studies and contextual inquiries. You should possess an entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative and ownership of your projects while leading creative efforts and solving complex problems using data. A passion for monetization products and product design processes is essential, as is the ability to inspire your team to think outside the box. You will also be expected to establish collaborative relationships quickly and influence cross-functional partners, including leaders, to integrate user research into product designs effectively. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic research to identify novel product opportunities and conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments (A/B testing).
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UX Researchers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working in UX Research.
  • Experience utilizing various research design methods (i.e. usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of the program with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead creative projects, solve complex problems using data, and inspire the team to think outside the box.
  • Experienced or interested in monetization products and product design processes.
