About the position

The Lead Video Monitor Technician is responsible for overseeing the video monitoring system within the hospital. This role involves managing various administrative functions to support clinical operations and the leadership team, ensuring that video monitoring operations align with the hospital's mission and objectives. The technician supervises staff, assists in training, and coordinates with department managers to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the video monitoring operations to ensure consistency with the hospital's mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Supervises video monitoring technicians.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Nursing Supervisor in planning and organizing daily video monitoring operations.
  • Responds efficiently and takes a leadership role during emergency management situations.
  • Educates staff on new technology, equipment, processes, and initiatives.
  • Coordinates the orientation of new employees with the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager.
  • Provides feedback to the department manager for employee evaluations.
  • Functions as a resource for video monitor technicians for efficient system use.
  • Maintains accurate records of the issue log and provides feedback with data to the Nurse Manager.
  • Coordinates with the department manager and holds regular staff meetings.
  • Assists with Float Pool ancillary staff scheduling before final approval by the Nurse Manager.
  • Acts as a liaison with the vendor company.
  • Conducts regular audits of video monitoring processes to ensure compliance with documentation and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a related area.
  • Ability to extract and interpret information effectively.
  • Ability to assess complex details to identify problems and re-prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to make personnel decisions under time constraints.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and constant interruptions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
