About the position

The Lead Visual role at West Elm involves supporting the management team in daily operations, ensuring the store meets financial goals, and providing exceptional customer service. This position emphasizes the importance of visual merchandising and operational excellence, while fostering a positive work environment aligned with the company's People First culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational functions including opening and closing the store, register functions, and back office procedures.
• Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts.
• Serve as a Selling Captain, modeling sales generation and customer service for associates.
• Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate the team on products and improve selling skills.
• Provide training and coaching to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services.
• Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect.

Requirements

• Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
• 1-3 years of retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in home-related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in specialty retail is preferred.
