About the position

The Lead Visual role at West Elm involves providing daily support to the management team, ensuring the store meets financial goals and delivers exceptional customer service. This position requires operational oversight, including opening and closing routines, and maintaining visual and cleanliness standards. The Lead Visual will also serve as a role model for sales associates, focusing on enhancing the customer experience and driving sales through effective training and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, manage register functions and back office procedures.
• Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts.
• Serve as a Selling Captain, prioritizing customer experience and sales generation.
• Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate the team on products and improve selling skills.
• Provide training and coaching to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services.
• Maintain a fair and respectful environment for all associates.

Requirements

• Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
• 1-3 years of retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in home-related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in specialty retail is preferred.
