About the position

The Lead Visual role at West Elm involves supporting the management team in daily operations, ensuring the store meets financial goals, and providing exceptional customer service. This position emphasizes operational excellence, visual merchandising, and team leadership to enhance the customer experience and maintain store standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational functions including opening and closing the store, register functions, and back office procedures.
• Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts.
• Serve as a Selling Captain, modeling sales generation and customer service for associates.
• Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate the team on product and improve selling skills.
• Provide training and coaching to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services.
• Maintain a fair and respectful environment for all associates in line with the People First Philosophy.

Requirements

• Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
• 1-3 years of retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in home-related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in specialty retail is preferred.
