About the position

As a Lead Visual at Williams Sonoma, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management team by executing daily operational functions and ensuring that the store meets its financial goals while providing exceptional service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include performing opening and closing routines, supervising staff, and maintaining the store's visual standards. You will be expected to embody the company's commitment to a People First culture, ensuring that all associates are treated with dignity and respect. This role requires a proactive approach to sales generation and customer service, making the customer experience your top priority. In this position, you will also serve as a Selling Captain, acting as a role model for sales associates and utilizing training resources to enhance their product knowledge and selling skills. You will provide coaching and training to your team, focusing on clienteling and in-home services, while fostering an environment of collaboration and respect. Your leadership will be essential in maintaining operational standards, including cleanliness, safety, and back-of-house procedures, during your shifts as the manager on duty. The Lead Visual role is designed for individuals who are passionate about retail and have a strong background in sales and supervision. You will be expected to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods and to lift and mobilize items weighing up to 75 lbs. This part-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, with a minimum of two shifts on weekends and two during the week. Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store, performing register functions and back office procedures.
  • Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts.
  • Serve as a Selling Captain, acting as a role model for sales associates in sales generation and customer service.
  • Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate the team on product and improve selling skills.
  • Provide training and coaching expertise to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services.
  • Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in home-related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred.
  • Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
  • Ability to be active, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting for extended periods of time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in specialty retail is preferred but not required.
