About the position

As a Lead Visual at Williams Sonoma, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of our customers' lives at home by ensuring that our store meets operational and visual standards. This position involves providing daily support to the management team, performing essential opening and closing routines, and supervising the store to ensure that financial goals are met while delivering World-Class service to our guests. You will be responsible for operational functions in the assigned area of accountability, particularly in sales, to ensure that the store meets company expectations. In this role, you will effectively perform operational functions such as opening and closing the store, managing register functions, and executing back-office procedures. You will ensure that the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back-of-house standards during your shifts as the manager-on-duty. As a Selling Captain, you will serve as a role model for sales associates, prioritizing the customer experience and driving sales generation and customer service. Your responsibilities will also include utilizing Selling Essentials and training resources to educate the team on product knowledge, improve selling skills, and achieve business goals. You will provide training and coaching expertise to associates in selling techniques, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services. Responsibilities

  • Effectively perform operational functions: open and close the store, register functions and back office procedures
  • Ensure store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts
  • Effectively perform the Selling Captain role, serving as a role model for sales associates in sales generation and customer service by making the customer experience the priority
  • Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate team on product, improve selling skills, and achieve business goals
  • Provide training and coaching expertise to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling and in-home services
  • Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our People First Philosophy

Requirements

  • Effective communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples
  • Ability to be active, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting for extended periods of time, required throughout the workday
  • 1-3 years retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in home related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred (specialty retail preferred, but not required)
