About the position

As a Lead Visual at Williams Sonoma, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of our customers' lives at home by ensuring that our store meets the highest standards of service and operational excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to support the management team in daily operations, which includes performing opening and closing routines, supervising staff, and ensuring that the store meets its financial goals. You will be expected to provide World-Class service to our guests while maintaining operational functions in your assigned area of accountability, particularly in sales. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back-of-house standards during your shifts as the manager-on-duty. You will also take on the Selling Captain role, serving as a role model for sales associates in generating sales and providing exceptional customer service. Utilizing Selling Essentials and training resources, you will educate your team on product knowledge, improve their selling skills, and help them achieve business goals. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity, in line with our People First Philosophy. You will provide training and coaching to associates in areas such as selling techniques, product knowledge, clienteling, and in-home services, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively perform operational functions: open and close the store, register functions and back office procedures
  • Ensure store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety and back of house standards during manager-on-duty shifts
  • Effectively perform the Selling Captain role, serving as a role model for sales associates in sales generation and customer service
  • Utilize Selling Essentials and training resources to educate team on product, improve selling skills, and achieve business goals
  • Provide training and coaching expertise to associates in selling, product knowledge, clienteling and in-home services
  • Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our People First Philosophy

Requirements

  • Effective communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples
  • 1-3 years retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in home related design, visual merchandising, or stockroom responsibilities preferred (specialty retail preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to be active, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting for extended periods of time, required throughout the workday
