About the position

The Lead Writer for the Global Brand Creative Kids team at NIKE, Inc. is responsible for crafting compelling narratives and creative messaging that resonate with young athletes and their culture. This role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality brand storytelling across multiple platforms, ensuring that all content aligns with Nike's brand values and engages the target audience effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape long-term and seasonal creative concepts in partnership with the Brand Narrative team and Art Direction teams.
  • Deliver best-in-class brand storytelling, including manifestos, social content, digital campaign content, headlines, and scriptwriting.
  • Ensure content meets the highest standards: on-brand, culturally aware, sport-authentic, platform right, distinctive, and engaging.
  • Drive brand awareness and deliver strong engagement through creative deliverables.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in sports, design, culture, and technology relevant to Nike and the writing team.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams including social, art direction, digital design, styling, photography, production, and marketing throughout the creative process.
  • Plan projects to ensure they are creatively exceptional and delivered on time.
  • Review project work for quality, consistency, accuracy, and successful completion.
  • Encourage and empower the team to produce fresh, distinctive, and effective storytelling through a high volume of work.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of writing experience in an agency, brand, or social environment.
  • Passion for athletes, sports, culture, and defining the next generation of sport for kids.
  • Deep knowledge of sport culture, athletes, and kid culture.
  • A portfolio showcasing social and brand writing across platforms with a distinctive voice and expert command of style and tone.
  • Understanding of writing within a brand organization and translating business priorities into engaging consumer-facing content.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience in brand, digital, and social writing with a solid understanding of content platforms.
  • Good awareness of trends on social media platforms.
  • Strong time management skills to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach to improving work.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to changing business needs.
