About the position

FedEx Supply Chain, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., is a leader in the third-party logistics industry, providing a diverse service portfolio that enables commerce for businesses. The Lead position is integral to the operations team, working closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure the smooth functioning of daily workload activities. This role requires proficiency in multiple areas, including productivity tracking, inventory management, and employee training. The Lead will monitor the progress of assigned workload activities, assist in productivity status reporting, and direct process flow assignments to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in operations. In this role, the Lead will coordinate and monitor daily workload activities, ensuring that productivity is tracked accurately. This includes reviewing, assigning, and completing daily workloads while maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring order quality. The Lead will evaluate workloads and team resources, effectively communicating any changing requirements to management for necessary workflow adjustments. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for monitoring the operation of all equipment, ensuring safety and security protocols are followed, and maintaining housekeeping standards in the area. The Lead will also play a crucial role in the initial training of production floor personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This includes utilizing and assigning personnel where needed to ensure maximum efficiency and the attainment of established production standards. The Lead will review line reconciliation paperwork for accuracy, conduct and monitor employee training, and assist with productivity status monitoring and reporting. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and monitors daily workload activities including productivity tracking.
  • Reviews, assigns, and completes daily workloads while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Evaluates workloads and team resources, communicating changing requirements to management.
  • Monitors the operation of all equipment, safety, security, and housekeeping of the area.
  • Responsible for the initial training of production floor personnel in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Fosters continuous improvement on the floor.
  • Utilizes and assigns personnel to ensure maximum efficiency and attainment of established production standards.
  • Reviews line reconciliation paperwork for accuracy.
  • Conducts and monitors employee training.
  • Assists with monitoring productivity status and reports.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Excel, including spreadsheets and formulas, and Outlook email is required.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is required.
  • Lean manufacturing and 5S experience is helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Customer service driven with strong team player attributes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with 5S methodology.
