About the position

As a Leader in Commercial Construction Risk Management at Altisource, you will serve as a Commercial Construction Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a deep understanding of the risks associated with commercial construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards, financial risks, legal liabilities, and other relevant factors that could impact project success. You will develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, which may involve insurance coverage, contract provisions, safety protocols, and effective project management techniques. In addition to risk assessment, you will ensure regulatory compliance by staying updated with relevant regulations and codes governing commercial construction projects. This will help minimize regulatory risks and ensure that all projects adhere to legal standards. You will also be responsible for reviewing construction contracts and subcontractor agreements to identify potential risk exposures, participating in contract negotiations to ensure fair risk allocation. Claims management will be another critical aspect of your role, where you will assist in managing insurance claims and disputes that arise during construction projects. This includes investigating claims, evaluating liability, and negotiating settlements. You will oversee quality assurance processes to minimize defects, delays, and cost overruns, and provide training and educational resources to project teams and contractors to promote best practices in risk management. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to proactively identify and address construction risks throughout the project lifecycle.
