About the position

The Leadership Development Professional role is an entry-level position designed to cultivate leadership skills and enhance business understanding within the manufacturing processes of a Wood Products mill. This full-time position involves a structured 12-month development plan that includes hands-on learning, operational rotations, and completion of process improvement projects, all under the guidance of assigned mentors. The role is part of the Wood Products business at the Philadelphia Lumber Mill, focusing on developing future leaders in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop safety leadership skills
  • Complete a structured 12-month rotation through all operational areas of the mill
  • Engage in projects and assignments to promote active learning and contribute to the mill's successful performance
  • Gain exposure to metrics, reliability, and process improvement projects
  • Receive broad exposure to Timberlands, Raw Materials, Sales, and Finance
  • Develop Front Line Leader skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Engineering, Forestry or related discipline, or on track to receive a Bachelor's degree by Summer 2024
  • Willingness to adapt to a strong safety culture
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities
  • Strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and develop leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based programs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience/knowledge in project management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborative teaming
  • Courage to challenge the status quo and deliver results
  • Excellent work ethic, strong time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to relocate for position opportunities
