About the position

The Lean & Quality Co-Op position at Eaton, OH, is designed for students pursuing degrees in various engineering fields. This role focuses on enhancing manufacturing processes through quality control and lean methodologies. The co-op will lead the layered process audit system, ensuring effective communication and reporting of monthly metrics. A significant aspect of the role involves managing the plant-wide 5S program, which includes coordinating resources and projects to assist teams in achieving their objectives. In addition to these responsibilities, the co-op will learn and apply problem-solving techniques, participating in sessions aimed at identifying root causes of issues within manufacturing processes. Safety is a priority, and the co-op will perform Job Safety Analyses to pinpoint potential risks to team members. The role also includes assisting with 2P events to brainstorm new manufacturing cell layouts, generating standard work instructions, and conducting time studies to optimize efficiency. The co-op will have the opportunity to participate in High Performance Teams (HPTs), facilitating or leading discussions to drive improvements. They will complete equipment and process capability studies, analyze data, and lead Gage R&R studies to ensure measurement accuracy. Learning basic gauging techniques and developing standard work will be essential components of the role. Participation in kaizen events and process audits will further enhance the co-op's experience in continuous improvement initiatives. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required, along with the ability to troubleshoot vision inspection cameras and implement corrective actions in manufacturing processes. The co-op will also be involved in various other projects as necessary, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 allowed.
  • School years: Sophomore, Junior, Graduating May 2023 - December 2025.
  • Allowed majors include various engineering disciplines such as Construction Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and more.
  • US work authorization is required.
