About the position

The Learning and Development Director at Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is a key leadership role responsible for shaping the organization's internal talent through strategic learning initiatives. This position focuses on fostering a culture of continuous growth and capacity building by implementing comprehensive learning and development opportunities that align with organizational goals. The director will work closely with leadership to assess training needs and develop programs that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring equitable pathways for employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for learning and development that aligns with BACR organizational goals.
  • Design, develop, and oversee creative, engaging, and high-quality training for employees across all levels, both in person and virtually.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development and develop career paths for employee advancement.
  • Collaborate with program and department leadership to understand their training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Leverage modern learning technologies and platforms to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of training programs.
  • Continuously assess and improve learning programs based on feedback and performance data to ensure maximum employee participation and engagement.
  • Manage the budget allocated for learning and development activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maximizing the impact of allocated resources.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in a similar role, such as a manager or director in talent development or organizational development.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and guide teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying ideas and creating engaging learning content.
  • Understanding of adult learning cycles and styles, with a firm grasp of cognitive development.
  • Proficient in identifying challenges in learning and development processes and devising effective solutions.
  • Capacity to analyze data related to employee performance, learning outcomes, and training effectiveness.

  • Experience with modern learning technologies and platforms.
  • Background in instructional design and creating safe learning environments.
