About the position

The Learning and Development (L+D) Specialist at Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana plays a crucial role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of employees through the creation and delivery of effective learning experiences. This position is hybrid, requiring regular travel to the corporate office in downtown Indianapolis and other sites as needed, so candidates should ideally reside in or around the Indianapolis/Marion County area. The salary range for this position is generally between $45,000 and $50,000, with a focus on full benefits including vision insurance, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement. The L+D Specialist will manage the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it is user-friendly and aligned with organizational needs. This includes troubleshooting technical issues and providing user support in collaboration with the HRIS team. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and objectives, acting as a consultant to present learning solutions, and designing and developing digital and blended courses. The ideal candidate will utilize instructional design and adult learning best practices to create engaging learning experiences that are accessible and inclusive for all learners. In addition to course design, the L+D Specialist will deliver blended learning content through various modalities, such as in-person workshops, webinars, and virtual sessions. They will foster an interactive learning environment, facilitate discussions and activities, and collect feedback to continuously improve course delivery. Staying current on learning trends and tools is also a key responsibility of this role, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of effective learning practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ensure the LMS is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational needs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to the LMS and provide user support as needed in partnership with the HRIS team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and objectives.
  • Act as a consultant to present learning solutions in areas such as course outline, delivery, assessments, and learning approaches using adult learning principles.
  • Design and develop digital and blended courses, including curriculum, materials, and assessments.
  • Utilize instructional design and adult learning best practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Ensure that courses are accessible and inclusive for all learners.
  • Deliver blended learning content through various modalities, such as in-person workshops, webinars, and virtual sessions.
  • Foster an interactive and engaging learning environment.
  • Facilitate discussions, activities, and assessments to enhance comprehension and retention.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve course delivery.
  • Stay up to date on learning trends, tools, and ideas.
