About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Alpha Schools is a full-time, in-person role focused on creating innovative life skills curricula for K-8 students. This position emphasizes practical skills such as public speaking, storytelling, and entrepreneurship, leveraging technology and data-driven methods to enhance educational experiences. The specialist will collaborate with a team to pilot workshops, gather feedback, and continuously refine educational materials, aiming to empower students with essential life skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive, engaging life skills curriculum for K-8 students, focusing on public speaking, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and financial acumen.
• Design objective and reliable assessment systems to evaluate baseline skills, progress, and mastery in non-traditional educational areas.
• Pilot new workshop designs with real students, conducting on-campus observations and gathering feedback from students and parents.
• Build personal expertise through research, best practices, and trend analysis to create innovative insights and approaches.
• Collaborate with team members and facilitators to ensure workshops meet quality expectations and achieve learning objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• At least 1 year of experience creating educational activities, workshops, or trainings.
• Experience observing and gathering qualitative data and feedback from students/attendees.
• Proficiency using Gen AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) for independent project execution.
• Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
