About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Forks Lath & Plaster, Inc. is responsible for instructing the in-house apprenticeship program and assisting with employee onboarding and training sessions. This role involves delivering lectures, facilitating hands-on training, and assessing apprentices' progress to ensure they acquire the necessary skills for a successful career in the construction industry. The position can be either full-time or part-time and is based on-site in the Grand Forks, ND area.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-house apprenticeship program
• Delivers engaging lectures and demonstrations to teach apprentices various construction techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices
• Organizes and supervises hands-on training sessions in workshop settings, guiding apprentices through real-world construction projects
• Provides individualized feedback and coaching to apprentices to help them improve their skills and overcome challenges
• Collaborates with Administration team to maintain accurate records of apprentices' attendance, performance, and progress throughout the program
• Fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and professional development
• Assists leadership team with employee onboarding and training sessions
• Modifies or revises programs as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Driver's license and reliable means of transportation
• Clear background screen
• Previous experience in the Construction industry (preferred)
• Previous experience in the Education industry (preferred)
