The Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in the development, organization, and implementation of educational classes, both classroom and web-based. This position involves researching, verifying, and creating educational materials aimed at enhancing the learning and skills development of the BankPlus workforce. The focus will be on the creation and deployment of training programs related to credit, deposit, lending software, and bank procedures. The primary duties include assisting the Education Department in evaluating training needs and special projects, both independently and collaboratively as part of the Education and Development Team. The specialist will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, implementing, and revising educational materials for various training formats, including instructor-led, computer-based, and webcast educational programs. Collaboration with bank leaders to develop teaching aids, educational manuals, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works is essential. Additionally, the Learning and Development Specialist will organize and conduct educational sessions across all training areas within the bank using various delivery methods. Cross-training with other trainers will be necessary to provide backup support as needed. The role requires recommending learning options based on a thorough needs analysis, identifying training needs by evaluating employee strengths and weaknesses, and translating those requirements into effective training programs. The specialist will also develop instructional materials, direct structured learning experiences, and monitor the quality of training results. Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and follow-ups is a critical aspect of this role. The specialist will interface with HR and management to ensure proper actions are taken during training and will work with managers to act as a Performance Interventionist, making recommendations for performance improvement. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory issues is essential for daily job functions, including compliance training and adherence to the Bank's standard of conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Education or Finance.
  • Five years of banking experience, including branch operations and deposit functions, or three years of corporate training experience.
  • Experience presenting educational material to groups.
  • Experience with e-learning tools such as Camtasia and Canva.
  • General computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with instructional design and development.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Fair Lending Act.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
