They will provide detailed reports on employee progress during training and conduct evaluations to assess trainee performance. The specialist will also engage in follow-up sessions to ensure ongoing success for new hires, adapting training content as necessary to align with changing policies and procedures. Additionally, the Learning and Development Specialist will collaborate with the L&D Department to develop refresher training programs and workshops on various topics, including product knowledge and sales techniques. They will serve as a resource for branch personnel regarding policies and procedures, keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices. The role also includes administrative support for the L&D Department, managing online learning systems, and assisting with technical needs during training sessions. Overall, this position is vital for fostering a knowledgeable and skilled workforce within the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-energy orientation to all new bank personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and document the teller training program and orientation for new employees.
  • Train all new retail staff and conduct refresher training as needed.
  • Assist the L&D Department in creating new training content and programs.
  • Act as a role model for trainees, demonstrating professionalism and a positive outlook.
  • Provide reports to management detailing employee progress during training periods.
  • Complete end-of-training evaluations and communicate results to management.
  • Conduct follow-up sessions with new retail hires to ensure ongoing success.
  • Work with the L&D Department to understand training requirements and recommend changes to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Develop programs for refresher training or workshops for staff on various topics.
  • Provide administrative support to the L&D Department as needed.
  • Set up webinars/seminars and assist with technical support during training sessions.
  • Administer and maintain online Learning Systems, including employee profiles and coursework assignments.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years of teller and/or related banking experience.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in teller and customer service skills, with a thorough understanding of bank policies and procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal and employee development skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with COCC Insight System.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Familiarity with online learning management systems.
