About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist (Quality and Safety) at Boston Metal plays a crucial role in developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that ensure compliance with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). This position is essential for promoting a culture of quality and safety as the company scales, particularly in adherence to ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Quality and Safety teams to design, develop and deliver training programs compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Support the development of training plans to address needs and audit readiness expectations.
  • Manage activities and maintain training records in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Generate training program metrics to assess the program's effectiveness and periodically report on them to management.
  • Conduct quality orientation for new employees.
  • Maintain an understanding of training trends and best practices.
  • Participate in the internal audit program.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review training records and documents for completeness and compliance with global regulations.
  • Manage the storage and archival of all controlled training documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in learning and development supporting quality and safety management.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs for ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of competency management, employee development, and adult learning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of delivering training to a wide audience, from technical staff to executive management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with eQMS or other digital training and compliance systems.
  • Experience assisting with internal audits related to quality, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies.
  • Ability to speak Brazilian Portuguese.
