About the position
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions that incorporate adult learning principles to enhance capabilities and drive behavioral change among learners. This role involves improving training content based on business trends and evaluations, developing training materials, and collaborating with coordinators to schedule training courses. Although this position does not have direct reports, it includes mentoring less experienced staff and may involve leading a team of matrixed resources.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates virtual and instructor-led training sessions.
- Implements adult learning principles to engage learners and drive behavioral change.
- Utilizes business trends and evaluations to enhance training content and delivery.
- Develops and maintains training materials.
- Partners with coordinators to schedule training courses.
- Mentors less experienced staff and may lead a team of matrixed resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years of experience delivering training or adult learning modules to large audiences.
- Knowledge of adult learning delivery methods and principles.
- Understanding of learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to troubleshoot and use video editing software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze insights.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
