About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist will implement training programs that meet regulatory requirements and business needs at the Devens site. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create effective training plans, conducting training sessions, and ensuring compliance with training goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). The specialist will also maintain training documentation, assess training needs, and develop course content to enhance employee proficiency in a GMP manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement training programs that meet regulatory requirements and business needs.
  • Provide training expertise and consultation in support of the Devens site training model and process.
  • Work with L&D and functional Subject Matter Experts to create a training and development plan.
  • Conduct ILT and OJT sessions to support functional unit training requirements.
  • Provide feedback to trainees to ensure all skills/knowledge have been acquired.
  • Solicit feedback from trainees to ensure the appropriateness of course content.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to ensure training is compliant and effective.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and employee record keeping.
  • Seek feedback from Department Management to assess training needs.
  • Develop course content and procedures including new SOPs and TRNs for manufacturing training programs.
  • Perform competency assessments of operators on an ongoing basis.
  • Implement the local Manufacturing Operations new hire Training Program.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling training sessions and coordinating enrollment.
  • Communicate with different departments to ensure new hires have access to all necessary systems and security.
  • Observe, practice, and promote all aspects of the GMP & GDP requirements.

Requirements

  • Understanding of GMP manufacturing environments, processes, and controls requirements.
  • Intermediate skills in design, development, and implementation of training using the ADDIE instructional design model.
  • High level of experience delivering and assessing training.
  • Advanced skills in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an aseptic environment requiring successful completion of qualification program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Education, B.S. in Biology, Biochemical, Chemical, or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
