About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Sanford Health is responsible for coordinating and delivering training programs for employees, students, and community members. This role focuses on customizing curriculum and developing training materials that meet organizational needs while utilizing adult learning principles. The specialist will also maintain and update existing training programs, perform quality checks, and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure effective training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Customize curriculum and develop training materials to meet organizational and stakeholder needs.
  • Deliver training utilizing adult learning principles and training methods.
  • Maintain and update existing training and education programs.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure course functionalities and objectives are met.
  • Provide training in various formats including software-based training, classroom settings, and online learning modules.
  • Coordinate training schedules for intended audiences and populations.
  • Develop strong working relationships and manage projects effectively.
  • Facilitate change processes and communicate organizational goals effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a preference for a field of study related to department training focus.
  • If no degree, six years of equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare environment providing education/training.
  • Experience with automated software applications is preferred.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creating online learning modules.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office/Windows applications.
  • Experience in group facilitation and innovative problem solving.
