About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Gordon Food Service is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering various learning solutions, including e-learning, to enhance employee performance and support business objectives. This role involves collaborating with leadership and subject matter experts to create effective training programs that address regulatory, technical, and professional development needs within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets training and development needs within aligned functions and business units.
  • Develops and executes learning solutions that support business objectives by collaborating with divisional resources and leadership.
  • Ensures cost-effective design, implementation, measurement, and continual improvement of training solutions.
  • Implements and maintains department-specific training programs and processes.
  • Focuses learning solutions on improving performance outcomes and business results using a systems approach.
  • Oversees project communication, providing status updates and clarifying concerns with stakeholders.
  • Makes effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact business outcomes.
  • Facilitates learning solutions through various delivery methods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Performance, Instructional Design, Organizational Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in designing and delivering learning solutions.
  • Experience managing diverse learner needs and evaluating learning solutions.
  • Ability to select appropriate methodologies to maximize learning.
  • Experience leading, managing, and facilitating change within organizations.
  • Proven ability to gather data to show the value of learning and performance solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and principles of curriculum and training design.
  • Ability to analyze needs, propose solutions, and drive results.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with English fluency.
  • Ability to motivate adult learners and influence stakeholders.
