About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist position at BCforward is designed for a highly motivated individual who will play a crucial role in creating training content to support various organizational initiatives and business units. This role involves developing both online and live classroom training materials, necessitating strong content development and writing skills. The specialist will be responsible for drafting articles that support employee learning, providing tips, and creating educational resources such as job aids. Good research skills are essential to ensure the content is relevant and effective. In addition to content creation, the Learning and Development Specialist will support live virtual meetings and events, requiring strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate must maintain a professional demeanor and be comfortable working with various stakeholders, including the Associate Director of Organizational Development and other training specialists. Experience with tools such as Adobe Articulate (Storyline and Rise), Canva, Camtasia, and MS Teams is preferred, as these will be integral to the role. The position also emphasizes the importance of continuous learning, as the specialist will be expected to stay updated on new software and changes in technology that can enhance training delivery. Candidates with experience in developing HR curriculums or training in collaboration with subject matter experts will be given preference. Additionally, the ability to create training videos and microlearning content, as well as familiarity with voiceover tools, will be considered a plus. This role is a contract position with an expected duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension, and requires a hybrid work model with 8 days per month onsite in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Create training content for online and live classroom training to support organizational initiatives.
