About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Teradyne is a pivotal role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning and development programs that align with the organization's strategic goals. This position combines expertise in instructional design with program management skills to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement of training initiatives. The role is hybrid, based in North Reading, MA, with potential opportunities for remote work within the US. In this role, the specialist will oversee the design, development, and delivery of various learning programs, which may include onboarding, leadership development, and technical training specific to the company. The specialist will manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, coordinating with vendors and facilities management, preparing budget reports, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure project success. The position also involves monitoring program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, as well as preparing and presenting reports on these evaluations. The Learning Management System (LMS) will be a key focus, where the specialist will manage course and class entries, conduct item reviews, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, the specialist will design and create engaging, learner-centered training materials, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, and multimedia content. Utilizing instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM, the specialist will develop effective and interactive learning experiences, ensuring high-quality content through continuous review and revision based on feedback and industry best practices. Staying current with industry trends and best practices in learning and development will be essential, as the specialist will suggest new strategies based on learner feedback and evolving organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of learning programs including onboarding and leadership development.
  • Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, including vendor communication and budget reporting.
  • Monitor program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; prepare and present reports.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for course and class entries and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Design and create engaging, learner-centered training materials, including e-learning modules and facilitator guides.
  • Utilize instructional design models to develop effective and interactive learning experiences.
  • Review and revise training materials based on feedback and industry best practices to ensure high-quality content.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in learning and development and suggest new strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development, with at least 2 years in a program management role.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, including the creation of e-learning modules and training materials.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate and Captivate.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in instructional design methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to evaluate training needs and program effectiveness.
  • Skilled in facilitating engaging and effective training sessions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience with SCORM Cloud, SuccessFactors, Docebo, or similar LMS technologies.
