About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist plays a critical role in enhancing employee performance, engagement, and adaptability within The Ohio State University Health System. This position focuses on delivering effective training, creating learning materials, and supporting organizational change initiatives related to the move into a new hospital tower. The specialist will conduct engaging and informative orientation sessions for new hires, creating a conversational virtual environment that celebrates their arrival and fosters a sense of belonging while ensuring they understand the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Administrative support for successful orientation will also be part of the role. In addition to orientation, the specialist will be responsible for developing high-quality training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and job aids. Collaboration with subject matter experts is essential to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the content, which must be tailored to meet the specific needs of different roles within the healthcare system. The role also involves assisting in managing the transition to the new hospital tower by providing training and resources that help employees adapt to changes in processes, technology, and the physical environment. Addressing employee concerns and promoting a positive attitude toward the transition is a key responsibility. The Learning and Development Specialist will assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes. Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in learning and development is crucial for continuous improvement in training initiatives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
