About the position

As the Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist at BluSky Restoration Contractors, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our national workforce. This position involves supporting and coordinating with the broader L&D team to facilitate technical training and manage learning content and activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of functional training and adult education best practices, along with excellent organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer BluSky's Learning Management System (LMS), including data entry, course scheduling, reporting, and content maintenance.
  • Assist with the management and delivery of new employee onboarding programs.
  • Communicate with course attendees and track attendance.
  • Create and track surveys for internal and external classes to measure training effectiveness.
  • Design and maintain training content including e-learning courses, templates, handouts, and videos using tools like PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Support virtual and on-site training events, including setup, classroom management, and catering orders.
  • Track, report, and maintain proof of professional development training status for employees.
  • Perform curriculum review, testing, and regular content updates to keep training materials current.
  • Communicate projected timelines to stakeholders and incorporate policies into training materials.
  • Conduct gap analyses of projects and training activities, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on new educational techniques and technology to enhance training.
  • Support the broader L&D and People Services teams as needed.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate training environment, preferably in construction or restoration.
  • Experience with learning management systems (Absorb LMS preferred).
  • Experience with virtual classroom tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with content creation tools like Articulate Rise/Storyline or similar programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams).
  • Strong knowledge of adult training procedures and methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • Instructor and/or adult education certifications (ATD, SHRM, Josh Bersin, etc.) preferred.
