About the position

A Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist designs, develops, and delivers training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, ultimately contributing to organizational success through a focus on continuous improvement and employee development. This role requires knowledge and application of adult learning theory and practices and requires a mix of creativity, flexibility, project management, analysis, and customer focus. The L&D Specialist will work closely with HR colleagues and internal stakeholders to ensure learning experiences achieve desired outcomes and measurable results, supporting our progressive Talent strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify training needs, skills gaps, and areas for improvement within the organization.
  • Develop and design engaging and effective training programs, utilizing various methods, such as e-learning, instructor-led training, virtual workshops, and video-based interactive learnings.
  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies to incorporate and/or adapt training programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions, including in-person and virtual, ensuring a positive and effective learning experience.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the team as well as stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating updates/status and timeframes with team and stakeholders.
  • Analyze data related to training effectiveness to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact and effectiveness of training solutions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and non-verbally.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred (Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Communication).
  • 5 - 7 years' experience and application of adult learning, instructional design, and facilitation.
  • Experience with design tools - Articulate, Camtasia, Canva, Video authoring tools required.
  • Expert-level knowledge of instructional systems design methodology (ADDIE), rapid design / development practice, adult learning theory, assessment tools, and Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - active listener, thoughtful questions, and effective communicator.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, work independently, meet deadlines, and measure impact of learning solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach, and project management skills - building and communicating project updates.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively with all employee levels to build and sustain trust quickly and effectively.
  • Curious learner with coaching mindset and approach.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Possess a learning/growth mindset, collaborate cross-functionally, and seek feedback.
  • Consulting skills to build and maintain partnerships.
