The Learning and Development Specialist at The Hartford plays a crucial role in shaping the professional, leadership, and talent development across the organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Organizational Development, this position is designed to support various learning initiatives that align with the company's goals and the evolving needs of its workforce. The specialist will be responsible for designing and delivering onboarding programs, as well as other learning and development (L&D) programs that respond to the changing needs of the organization, including cohort programs. This role requires a proactive approach to providing L&D consultation to individuals, teams, and programs, ensuring that learning options are tailored to build capability within the organization. In addition to program design, the Learning and Development Specialist will assist in developing and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of leaders and staff. This includes managing training requirements for different levels of the organization, based on current and future capabilities, as well as mandatory needs such as sales and compliance training. The specialist will also be responsible for selecting and recommending educational methods, certifications, conferences, workshops, and e-learning courses that align with the organization's objectives. Facilitating regular soft-skills development, sales, and management training sessions will be a key responsibility, along with assessing the impact of training on employee performance. The specialist will act as a liaison with external partners and manage outsourced training as needed. Evaluating feedback from trainees and trainers after each session will be essential to ensure continuous improvement in training delivery. Promoting and marketing available training opportunities to employees will also be a significant part of this role, as well as driving a culture of learning within the organization. Additionally, the specialist will assist with Learning Management System (LMS) input and reporting, and manage the L&D intranet page to ensure that information is relevant and targeted to the correct audience.
