About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Key Point Health Services is responsible for the orientation and ongoing education of all employees, as well as managing the professional development program. This role involves assessing training needs, developing training curriculum, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The specialist will also coordinate training programs and maintain documentation related to employee training.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the orientation and ongoing education of all Key Point employees.
• Assess training needs, learning objectives, and competencies.
• Develop training curriculum and conduct post-testing.
• Oversee timely and accurate completion of all training documentation.
• Maintain active status for the agency with the Board of Social Work.
• Seek CEU sources for agency certification as a training provider.
• Coordinate all training programs and assign responsibilities to trainers and managers.
• Provide necessary education and materials to managers and employees.
• Assist departments with the selection and contracting of external training programs.
• Manage the monthly employee of the month newsletter.
• Implement and manage the Professional Development Program in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.
• Complete required 20 hours of training per year.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1-3 years managing a Training Development Program or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Valid and active Maryland driver's license.
• Pass a criminal background check, MVA check, and provide a negative drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in training and development within a nonprofit setting.
• Knowledge of CARF, COMAR, OSHA, and local regulations.
