About the position

The Learning and Development Trainer at Thompson Coburn LLP is responsible for providing training services to attorneys and staff through both in-person and remote delivery methods. This role focuses on developing and maintaining learning paths that enhance the firm's overall efficiency and productivity, while promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after an initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of innovative and effective learning programs, including instructor-led training and e-learning modules.
  • Build, update, and maintain learning paths in the Firm's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Modernize training programs by researching and implementing up-to-date methodologies and tools.
  • Facilitate training programs on processes, procedures, software policies, and best practices.
  • Manage the Firm's Learning Management System (LMS) to offer self-service learning options and track employee training history.
  • Utilize feedback from training sessions and performance data to improve training content and delivery methods.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of technical writing experience.
  • A minimum of one year of training experience, with experience in developing and updating learning paths preferred.
  • An Associate degree or higher is preferred.
  • Post-high school courses in English, Communications, Journalism, Computer Science, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience in instructional design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of legal industry-specific software is preferred.
  • Experience in creating interactive videos is preferred.
  • Experience in working in a multi-office law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
