About the position

The Learning Center Program Manager at Texas A&M University will lead the Math Learning Center (MLC) in fostering academic success for students in high-enrollment mathematics and statistics courses. This role involves managing help sessions, training tutors, and collaborating with academic departments to enhance student learning experiences. The Program Manager will ensure smooth operations, assess program effectiveness, and implement improvements based on data-driven insights, all while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all MLC help session services (face-to-face and online) for smooth delivery
  • Lead hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating help session tutors
  • Oversee technology for tracking MLC attendance and usage data
  • Develop and refine MLC programs to meet student needs and center goals
  • Assist with program evaluations and data-driven improvements
  • Collaborate on new initiatives and program enhancements
  • Support MLC operations, including workshops, meetings, and resource management
  • Manage special programming related to the TAMU Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
  • Liaise with university departments for program communication
  • Work with units overseeing the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) for mathematics
  • Maintain up-to-date information on MLC and Virtual Math Learning Center (VMLC) websites
  • Engage with other departments and academic colleges to align initiatives
  • Promote MLC at university events like New Student Conferences and Howdy Week
  • Represent MLC in meetings with stakeholders, fostering a supportive environment
  • Perform additional tasks to support MLC's mission and goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Five years of experience in mathematics teaching, academic program management, instructional and curriculum design, or other educational management experiences

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field
  • Six years or more of experience in secondary or post-secondary education, secondary or post-secondary mathematics teaching, academic program management, instructional and curriculum design, or other educational management experiences
  • Background, experience, or training in managing tutoring operations and working with academic departments
  • Familiarity with LaTeX or comparable mathematical authoring tools
  • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress) or video production tools
