About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and performance of customer service representatives within our financial services firm. This position is designed to align training programs with the company's core values, ensuring that all employees are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles. The specialist will be responsible for facilitating comprehensive training sessions for new hires, focusing on various aspects of their roles in both financial and healthcare call center environments. In this role, the Learning and Development Specialist will conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions, accommodating 5 to 11 new employees per class over a period of 2 to 3 weeks. The training will cover essential skills, company policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring that all new hires are well-prepared to meet the demands of their positions. The specialist will lead orientation and onboarding processes, utilizing diverse training methods such as e-learning, interactive discussions, and practical simulations to engage participants effectively. Additionally, the specialist will be tasked with identifying training needs within the organization, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop tailored training solutions, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs. Managing training logistics, including equipment setup, scheduling, and preparation of training materials, will also be a key responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in training and development, particularly within call center environments, and will be skilled in designing and facilitating impactful training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person and virtual training for financial and healthcare call center roles.
  • Train 5-11 new employees per class over 2-3 weeks.
  • Design and deliver training on skills, policies, and compliance.
  • Lead orientation and onboarding for new hires.
  • Use diverse methods including e-learning, discussions, and simulations.
  • Identify training needs, collaborate on solutions, and assess training effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Training and Development or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of training experience, especially in call centers and leadership.
  • Skilled in designing and facilitating training programs.
  • Familiarity with tools like Live Vox, Captivate, and Articulate is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of learning management software is desirable.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team.
