About the position

Life Fitness/Hammer Strength is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Learning & Development Specialist to enhance internal training for customer-facing teams. This role involves utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver impactful education programs, designing and managing training initiatives to improve individual and team performance. The position is hybrid, based out of the Global HQ in Rosemont, IL, with a mix of remote and in-office collaboration days.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement across various teams and departments.
  • Collaborate with managers and team leaders to understand training needs and align them with business objectives.
  • Create customized learning solutions, including e-learning, workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training.
  • Develop instructional materials, including manuals, presentations, and interactive learning modules.
  • Facilitate training sessions, both in-person and virtually, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning environment.
  • Deliver technical, soft skills, compliance, leadership, and team development training to diverse employee groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Manage the organization's LMS, ensuring training materials are updated and accessible.
  • Stay current with L&D trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously enhance training offerings.
  • Guide employees on their personal development journeys, offering advice on career progression and skills enhancement.
  • Work closely with sales leaders and product teams to identify training needs, set KPIs, and design training sessions that align with business goals.
  • Engage with sales reps and managers in the field to understand real-world challenges, allowing for tailored training solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 4+ years in L&D, Sales Enablement, or Training with proven experience in training design, curriculum development, and program impact evaluation.
  • Familiarity with sales processes, ideally with prior experience carrying a quota.
  • Strong understanding of selling methodologies with a track record of designing programs that achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Skilled at building effective relationships across teams, particularly with product, sales, and L&D functions.
  • Proficiency in setting KPIs and using data to assess and improve the impact of training on sales performance.
  • L&D or Training certification is preferred, e.g., CLS Certified Learning Strategist, CPTM Certified professional and learning management.
  • Familiarity with LMS systems or E-Learning platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with innovative learning technologies and methodologies (e.g., blended learning, microlearning).
  • Coaching or mentoring experience, particularly for leadership and high-potential employees.
