About the position

The Learning & Development Specialist at HCSC is responsible for identifying business performance gaps and learning needs through collaboration with various departmental and business resources. This role involves managing curricula project initiatives, including the design strategy, needs analysis, and development of adult learning solutions. The specialist will coordinate communication plans, maintain curricula, and evaluate learning and business outcomes, ensuring effective instructional design for various learning formats.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departmental and business resources to identify performance gaps and learning needs.
  • Manage overall curricula project initiatives, including design strategy and needs analysis.
  • Design and develop relevant adult learning solutions for the business.
  • Coordinate communication plans and curriculum maintenance plans.
  • Evaluate learning and business outcomes to ensure effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in instructional design, performance consulting, and/or development, or 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and emerging instructional design trends.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructor-led and eLearning design.
  • Effective communication skills in visual, verbal, and written forms.
  • Technical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and meet goals.
  • Ability to work with multiple internal and external customers, senior management, and subject matter experts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, or Instructional Design.
  • Familiarity with Learning & Talent Management Systems.
  • 1 year of learning and development experience in a corporate or business setting.
