About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing employee training and development within a large organization. This position focuses on identifying training needs, developing course materials, and implementing effective training programs to improve employee performance and engagement. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in adult education principles and project management to deliver high-quality training solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and assessing the safety and HR training needs of employees and leaders.
  • Reviewing existing training programs and recommending enhancements to improve engagement and retention.
  • Creating and providing current and effective training materials and programs.
  • Identifying opportunities for training to improve employee safety, health, morale, and engagement.
  • Researching and partnering with vendors for specialized training needs.
  • Developing and managing the annual training program and budget.
  • Implementing and evaluating an engaging New Employee Orientation program.
  • Developing individualized and group training programs for various organizational needs.
  • Maintaining technologies that track training activity.
  • Staying current with safety, health, and HR training requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, training, or related field, or relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in developing curriculum and delivering training in safety, health, and HR.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Innovative and a facilitator of learning and change.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
  • Strong experience with Adobe Suite and Learning Software such as Blackboard.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) certification preferred.
