About the position

The position involves facilitating New Employee Orientation and ensuring that new hires are welcomed, trained, and successfully transitioned to their new manager. The role requires maintaining and recommending changes to the orientation and training content to meet the current and future needs of the business, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations by providing required safety training, and assisting in educating and enrolling technical employees into appropriate apprenticeship programs. Additionally, the position includes tracking progress and completion of apprenticeship programs and training classes, managing training schedules, and developing various learning materials.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate New Employee Orientation and ensure new hires are welcomed and trained.
  • Ensure all new hire documentation and training documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Recommend changes to the Manager regarding New Employee Orientation and training content.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by providing required safety training.
  • Assist in educating and enrolling technical employees into appropriate apprenticeship programs.
  • Track progress and completion of apprenticeship programs and training classes.
  • Track On-The-Job (OJT) hours and course hours.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee requested training appointments/scheduling.
  • Track status changes and maintain current training records.
  • Help develop job aids, facilitation guides, web-based materials and/or other learning materials.
  • Manage training schedules and sessions ensuring facility setup, logistics and employee notification.
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and various technology platforms.
  • Issue POs for external training and tuition reimbursement and schedule training for external courses.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in training, development, and Human Resources preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, IQMS, Pinnacle Video Editing, and eLeap Learning Management System preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Discretion regarding confidential matters.
  • Must be proactive, highly motivated and collaborative.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for details.
  • Strong customer service, problem solving, and analytical skills are required.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Strong people management skills and team building skills.
