About the position

The Learning & Development Specialist at Post Holdings Inc. is responsible for designing and delivering training initiatives that enhance employee potential and promote a culture of continuous learning. This role supports the company's commitment to fostering a rewarding and respectful environment, impacting employees across the enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, the specialist will leverage instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create effective learning solutions tailored to various needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the instructional design process from conception to reinforcement, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to develop effective learning solutions for individual contributors, managers, and leaders.
  • Leverage adult learning principles to design content that is relevant, engaging, and tailored to various learning styles and needs.
  • Design and integrate multimedia elements such as graphics, videos, and interactive activities to enhance learning experiences.
  • Support the maintenance of a learning roadmap, providing visibility to learning activities across the organization.
  • Leverage authoring software including Articulate to design engaging eLearning materials.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools such as quizzes, practical exercises, and feedback forms to measure effectiveness of instructional materials and training programs.
  • Track and report key metrics identifying areas for improvement within the trainings.
  • Monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
  • Support engaging and interactive training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring content is understandable, maintains participant interest, and promotes active learning.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods including eLearning, blended learning, virtual classrooms, and in-person workshops to cater to different learner preferences and maximize retention.
  • Leverage and maintain learning management system (LMS) platform and tools that facilitate seamless learning experiences.
  • Support train-the-trainer sessions when needed and provide ongoing support and analysis to ensure effective application of training content.
  • Stay well-informed of emerging trends and best practices in learning and development including instructional design, e-learning, and educational technology to incorporate innovative approaches and technologies into training programs.
  • Continuously evolve training programs and materials to be responsive to emerging trends and best practices, as well as feedback from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, organizational development or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools (Articulate preferred) and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Experience designing and delivering learning programs including eLearning and in-person training.
  • Project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to achieve learning objectives.
  • Exhibits an eye for design, creating engaging materials that captivate participants and enhance the learning experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess learning outcomes and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
