About the position

The IT Learning and Development Specialist plays a crucial role within the Information Technology Team, focusing on supporting software implementations and training for new employees and providers. This position is responsible for executing training plans for EPIC and other clinical applications, ensuring that end-users are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and the promotion of a learning culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Execute training plans for EPIC and other clinical applications.
  • Support go-live processes and assist with help desk inquiries.
  • Prepare and present training materials and conduct classes on patient-care systems.
  • Promote a learning culture and assist in credentialing for EPIC applications.
  • Determine training needs for staff and providers, including new functionality and refresher training.
  • Maintain training records and documentation in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Coordinate training for new hires, contractors, and other personnel.
  • Review and test changes in lesson plans and workflows.
  • Communicate recommendations and concerns with coworkers and management.
  • Provide specialized training to end users outside of normal hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or
  • Associate's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, teaching, or training/adult learning, particularly with EPIC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records, especially with EPIC credentials.
