About the position

The Learning & Development Specialist at Progress Rail is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance employee skills and support organizational development objectives. This role involves assessing learning needs, developing course curricula, facilitating learning sessions, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the learning needs of employees for professional and organizational development objectives.
  • Design course curricula and select suitable learning platforms and vendors for effective delivery.
  • Develop communications for learning courses or programs and arrange logistics for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate learning sessions with a focus on business-identified learning objectives and an adult learner-centric approach.
  • Collaborate with others to design and implement assessments of learning effectiveness and prepare evaluation reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of working experience in Learning & Development or Human Resources.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative.
  • APTD or CPTD certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a front line supervisory, operations, or Plant HR Specialist/Generalist/Business Partner preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of consulting techniques and roles in providing guidance to clients.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain focus on current responsibilities and complete tasks.
  • Knowledge of instructional design concepts and processes.
  • Experience in delivering learning solutions for desired performance outcomes.
