The Learning & Development Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department, with a specific focus on Performance Coaching and Learning & Development activities. This position is responsible for identifying the development needs within the organization and creating professional development programs that cater to those needs. The specialist will develop and/or source employee and leadership development opportunities, ensuring that all employees at Hubbardton Forge have access to the necessary resources to enhance their skills and knowledge. In this role, the Learning & Development Specialist will interact with employees at all levels of the organization, delivering policies and programs that align with the desired culture of Hubbardton Forge. The specialist will design tools and training programs that equip employees with the skills required for success, curate and manage training materials, and coach team members through conflicts to foster teamwork and improve performance. Additionally, the specialist will guide and support leadership in implementing the Performance Management Program (PMP), ensuring that all employees receive constructive feedback regularly. The Learning & Development Specialist will partner with the VP of HR to create and execute employee development strategies, leading by example and providing managerial coaching. This role also involves leading employee engagement initiatives, identifying process improvements, and supporting routine HR tasks such as payroll and benefits administration. The specialist will develop effective communication strategies to inform leadership and employees about company programs and policies, stay current on legislative issues affecting employment practices, and facilitate employee orientations and leadership development programs. Overall, the Learning & Development Specialist is an advocate for the team, actively listening to concerns and communicating observations to leadership.
