About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the institution. This position involves collaboration across departments to address learning needs, enhance employee engagement, and support various HR activities, including talent acquisition and onboarding. The specialist will design and manage programs that develop workplace skills and competencies, ensuring alignment with the institution's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to employees to facilitate their learning experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders to meet their learning needs.
  • Assist with employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, collaborating with the Employee Assistance Program vendor.
  • Design, implement, and oversee programs focused on developing relevant workplace skills and competencies.
  • Advise the Executive Director, HR and Talent Development on necessary updates to the program portfolio.
  • Maintain the employee learning management system, ensuring programs are current and relevant.
  • Track participation and attendance and manage reports as required.
  • Design and deploy assessments to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Handle logistics of training programs to ensure smooth registration and access for participants.
  • Facilitate and deliver training programs to Excelsior employees.
  • Stay current in the fields of training and organizational development, recommending best practices.
  • Assist with other human resources projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years in talent development, including designing, implementing, and assessing learning and development programs.
  • Self-initiative and self-management skills to prioritize work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in organizing and presenting information across various modalities.
  • Project management, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Data analytical and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience with delivering learning programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a virtual setting.
  • Experience with Office 365 programs, virtual collaboration tools, and learning management tools.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 based on experience and qualifications.
